The Golden Educational Initiative Incorporated provides networking and mentoring programs that develop critical thinking skills, promote goal seeking, and facilitate the practice of learning strategies that support student achievement. We are helping Pre-K through University-level students "connect the dots of their ambition" via projects and events that will equip them with targeted and tangible educational support, and encourage resiliency as they learn to construct their own thoughts and meaningfully engage the world around them.

SUMMER SKILLED READING PROGRAM

At The Golden Educational Initiative Incorporated, we understand that there is a well-established relationship between reading comprehension and critical thinking.  Improving the reading comprehension skills of students across various socio-economic and cultural backgrounds is no easy feat, but we can facilitate progress in this area by providing what few students receive consistently during the school year: small work groups, individualized reading strategies that centralize their interests, and time to generalize their learning within a real-life context.  It is vital that a student's effort to comprehend what they are reading results in something tangible and meaningful beyond a grade or an improved test score. Through our Summer Skilled Reading Program, we are determined to foster a 'love of knowing' as a foundation for growth and achievement.

BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR

In addition to bringing the community together to celebrate the beginning of a new school year, our goal is to equip attendees with basic and specialty academic supplies that may be cost prohibitive to the familiesĀ of the student population we serve.

THE GEII ROUNDTABLE

With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to equip students with proven strategies for making the impossible possible, by making the invisible visible. The GEII Roundtable is an invitation-only think-tank program for youth. The membership of the think-tank is comprised of GEII School Year Cohorts made up of 5-12 students per group. Throughout the school year, each Cohort makes presentations of their joint research, ideas, and proposed action points to volunteer representatives from various professional fields, or specific community organizations, who will serve as Topical Experts/Community Beneficiaries (TECBs).  The GEII Roundtable experience is specifically designed to teach students to formulate their own thoughts through contemplation of personal interests, identification of relevant issues, research, and dialogue.  It is our hope to inspire them by honoring their thoughts, encourage them by facilitating their thought processes, and to challenge them to be thought leaders in their community.  It is something that we take very seriously, and our team works very hard to create safe space and frequent opportunities for meaningful dialogues between the Student Cohorts and the TECBs.  Please contact us to volunteer to be an Individual or Organizational TECB, or to learn more about this unique program.
